Chiron Hospital is a private, fully Kenyan-owned facility established in 2009 as Kisii Medical Diagnostics and Imaging Clinic. Starting as an outpatient center focused on diagnostics and imaging, it has evolved into a Level Four private hospital with 250 beds, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and a wide range of quality healthcare services.
Our vision is to be the preferred Referral Hospital and Center of Excellence in the region. We aim to deliver exceptional, compassionate, and patient-centered healthcare across all social ladders, promoting health education and empowering individuals for informed well-being decisions.

Our History
Founded in 2009 as an outpatient facility specializing in medical diagnostics and imaging in Kisii town, Chiron Hospital has grown under limited company ownership with dedicated directors. Today, it stands as a Level Four hospital serving a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics across social and economic spectra.
Our evolution reflects a commitment to quality, innovation, and community engagement, with plans to expand bed capacity to over 300 and introduce advanced units like cancer care and pediatrics.

Graduating from the University of Nairobi with an M.med in Internal Medicine in 2008, Dr. Kumenda has over a decade of experience. He has served as Vice Chair of the Kenya Medical Association's Kisii branch and Chairman at Kisii Sports Club, demonstrating strong leadership and community commitment.

Director, Radiologist
With an M.med in Radiology from the University of Nairobi in 1999, Dr. Gatune brings over two decades of expertise. She has worked in various government hospitals, including as Radiologist at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, and established a private radiology practice in Kisii.
